The aim of this project was to determine the educational and employment history of individuals with MPS IVA Morquio.
Ninety-nine individuals with MPS IVA Morquio were identified by the MPS Society and invited to take part in a survey via postal questionnaire in April and May 2014. Fourty-six individuals participated, ranging from 4 to 56 years with an equal number of male and female respondents. The findings concluded that educational needs were mostly met at mainstream schools and, although half of the individuals surveyed felt that medical appointments impacted on their education, most had gone onto further education and a high proportion attended university and entered employment.
