Working as one team, we combine skills and experience to help build a better future for those living with MPS, Fabry or a related lysosomal disease.
Volunteers are an important part of our organisation. Working as one team, we combine skills and experience to help build a better future for those living with MPS, Fabry or a related lysosomal disease.
We have lots of volunteering opportunities available as a befriender, a childcare volunteer, in our fundraising office, at an event or out and about in your local area.
How you can help
Befriender
Befrienders are themselves affected members, who offer personal support. We know how isolating it can feel to be affected by a rare disease, or have a child who is affected and sometimes speaking to someone who has been through something similar can be a comfort.
Childcare volunteer
We rely on volunteers for our events and conferences to assist in the care needed for children and vulnerable adults affected by MPS, Fabry or a related lysosomal disease. New volunteers are supported by an experienced volunteer and generally come back each year as they find it to be such a worthwhile experience.
Regional volunteer
We are looking to build a network of volunteers to represent us in their local area and to raise awareness of the MPS Society and the amazing families we support. There may be opportunities to support people fundraising for us, arrange a local bucket collection, attend events, or help us thank members of the public for their amazing support.
Contact the volunteering team
There is always plenty to do at MPS House, from sending out publications to fundraising support and data entry.
We welcome all levels of experience – be sure to tell us if you have any specific skills that you think we might find useful. Please complete a volunteer registration form if you can help us!
